”How to Get

a Good Night's Sleep,

Anytime, Anywhere ”

Are you one of the millions who suffer from Sleep deprivation?

American Medical Association Reports:

Sleep Problems are being Ignored

Sleep Deprivation has been linked to Obesity, Diabetes, Cancer, Hypertension, Auto Accidents, and many Tragic events.

Are you getting enough sleep or running the risk?

 Dear Friend;

If you’re not getting the recommended 7 to 9 hours of sleep at night then what you’re now reading may literally save you life!!

Millions of Americans are moving through life weary and sleep deprived. Don’t believe me? Just walk into any coffee shop across America and find droves of people craving to stay awake with a morning shot of espresso, and afternoon latte, and an evening cappuccino. Americans on average are getting less than 7 hours of sleep a night. We have lost 2 hours of sleep a night in the last 40 years.

Americans now sleep less than any other industrialized country. Sleep deprivation is reaching epidemic proportions.

It’s been estimated that as much as 51% of the U.S. adult population is suffering from some sort of sleep disorder. There’s an avalanche of evidence showing the effects of sleep deprivation on your health and most of it continues to be ignored. Sleep is losing out to the latest chat room, late night B-rate cable movies, and the many distractions of our busy modern lives.

We rely on the false hope that the afternoon double shot latte will carry us through the day. When the fact is that sleep deprivation is taking an unprecedented toll on American’s health.

Scientists have uncovered an avalanche of evidence showing the effects of insufficient sleep.

The Less you sleep the Fatter you get

The Battle of the Bulge is being lost in bed

Many studies have been done looking at the effects of obesity on sleep. It is clear that overweight people have trouble sleeping. But now studies are showing that trouble sleeping can actually cause you to gain weight. In short, sleep deprivation causes a hormonal shift that boosts both your hunger and appetite. A few hours of bad sleep at night disturbs glucose tolerance and leptin levels, which increases your appetite for unhealthy foods.

Your work and stress levels are increasing—and so is your waistline--while the hours you sleep at night is decreasing. You are not alone. A recent study has shown that people who have slept six hours at night were 23% more likely to be obese than those people who had slept 7 to 9 hours. The people who slept 5 hours a night were 50% more likely, and those who slept 4 hours or less were 73% more likely to be obese.

That is worth repeating: You have a 73% greater chance to be obese if you suffer from a sleep disorder!

Get Enough Sleep to avoid Diabetes

Diabetes is a serious health problem. There are 20 million diabetics, 14 million diagnosed with early onset diabetes and unfortunately, 6 million who are unaware they have diabetes.

At their 2001 Annual Meeting, The American Diabetes Association reported that the people who regularly lose sleep can actually become less sensitive to insulin. This increases your risk to get diabetes as well as high blood pressure. The study suggests that healthy young people who got less than 6.5 hours of sleep, on a regular basis, had greater insulin resistance than those people who were getting 7.5 to 8 hours of sleep. Insulin resistance is the condition which usually leads to Type 2 diabetes.

The National Sleep Foundation revealed an alarming fact in 2004; there is a connection between sleep deprivation and adult diabetes. Lack of sleep increases the stress hormone, cortisol, within your body. This increase in cortisol inhibits your body’s ability to metabolize glucose. This overworks the pancreas and causes symptoms of early adult diabetes.

Are you asleep at the wheel?

Sleep deprivation is a major cause of traffic accidents. A National Highway Traffic Safety Administration study showed that 37% of drivers surveyed admitted to falling asleep at the wheel. The same survey revealed 35% of drivers who nodded off while driving within the past six months say it happened between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Right in the middle of broad daylight! This is amazing, especially considering that most statistics underreport the extent of crashes associated with drowsy driving!!!

When I was a teenager, my friend John fell asleep while he was driving and ran off the road. He missed a telephone pole by a few feet and slammed into some forgiving trees. He walked away from the accident (and I walked away with a valuable lesson), but others are not as lucky:

Every 12 minutes someone is killed by a motor vehicle crash

Every 14 seconds there is a disabling injury from a car crash

Auto accidents are a leading cause of death for people ages 1 to 33

An estimated 7.5 million drivers have nodded off while driving within the past month

An estimated 1.35 million drivers have been involved in a drowsy driving related crash in the past five years

"This driver was not as lucky as my friend John"

A Common Thread in history of Tragic Events

Many of the worst disasters in our History have been linked to worker fatigue and sleep deprivation.

• March 28, 1979: Three Mile Island
The accident happened around 4a.m when night workers tend to be the drowsiest. It was the most serious in U.S. nuclear power plant history and was caused by a serious lack in judgment. The number 2 reactor was destroyed by a meltdown from a cooling malfunction. While radiation leaked, fortunately there were no deaths or injuries to the plant workers and the nearby community.

• December 3, 1984: Bhopal India Gas Leak
Another example of inattentive workers in the early morning hours. It is the largest chemical industrial accident ever. A storage tank overheated and a plume of deadly MIC gases were released. The plume rose into the air quickly and spread into the neighborhood. Half a million people were exposed to the gas and 20,000 have died to date as a result of their exposure. More than 120,000 people still suffer from ailments caused by the accident and the subsequent pollution at the plant site.

• January 28, 1986: Space Shuttle Challenger
Like many tragic events in our lives we often never forget where we were when it happened. I will never forget where I was on this day watching the tragedy unfold in the cafeteria at Bucks County Community College. The managers who authorized the launch were running on little sleep from the night before. The mission, which had problems from the start, had kept the crews working around the clock to remedy the problems. 73 seconds after launch, Challenger exploded killing all on board. The Presidential Commission cited worker fatigue as playing a significant role in the cause of the disaster.

• April 25, 1986: Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster
A shutdown and test of Chernobyl reactor #4 was scheduled to take place at 1:00 a.m. Several safety features had been turned off. The reactor overheated causing a meltdown of the core. Two explosions followed which blew the top off of the reactor building. The people of Chernobyl were exposed to radioactivity approximately 100 times that of the Hiroshima bomb. 10 years later babies were still being born with defects and one of the causes cited in the disaster: human error caused by fatigued workers.

• March 24, 1989: Exxon Valdez Oil Spill
On this date the Valdez ran aground off the coast of Alaska, spilling over 230,000 barrels of oil. The cleanup to the area cost well over 2 billion dollars. While initial reports said the captain was drunk, further investigation showed that the captain had turned over command to his first mate. His first mate who had only slept 6 hours in his last 48. Which is why one of the causes cited in the investigation of the accident was failure to properly maneuver the ship due to worker fatigue and excessive workload.

Do you like what is looking back at you?

Let’s get personal for a minute. How is lack of sleep damaging your life? You don’t mean to holler at your kids or snap at your co-workers. Your family doesn’t understand the pressures you face everyday and your patience runs thin when you’re not getting a good night sleep. Believe me, we’ve all been there one time or another. I always tell my children that in life there will be people who like you and people who don’t like you…it is a fact. But let’s face it, we don’t want to go through life being disliked or thought of as the asshole at work. You don’t want to leave that type of legacy.

And you certainly don’t want to cut your life short with diabetes, obesity, hypertension, cancer, or other stress-related problems. Much less have an accident from being drowsy. What kind of legacy is that?

Many of the men in my family died in their early 50’s. This was a hard pill to swallow when I was 10. And now I realize that their high-stress, sleep-deprived lifestyles had a lot to do with it. I don’t want to leave my family early, leaving them a legacy of “if only Dad was around to see this.”

Do You?

It’s time you realize the dangers of sleep deprivation. The clock is ticking…just make sure some of your hours that are ticking are spent in much needed sleep.

Don’t Lose Hope-You were Born to Sleep

Sleep like a baby with “3 Secrets to Sound Sleep”

Can you remember a time in your life that they were able to fall asleep as easily as falling off a log.  Maybe you’ve had such a difficult time getting sleep that it is hard for you to remember.

Don’t lose hope.  Learning to sleep again is just like riding a bike.

Sleep is a definite period of rest of the nervous and psychic activities. Sleeping is a natural and NECESSARY a part of the life.  Just as important as being awake.  Getting a good night sleep allows your body to recharge itself: physically, mentally, and emotionally.  It is nature’s way of healing yourself.

No one should have trouble, because it is engrained in us; it is part of our being.  Then why is it so hard to do something that should be so easy?  When it comes right down to it, in the simplest of forms, you’ve just forgotten HOW to sleep.

How do I know this?  Because I have been there just like you.

Introducing “3 Secrets to Sound Sleep"

My name is Steve Grzymkowski, and I am the author of: “3 SECRETS TO SOUND SLEEP”. I can tell you I have discovered something that can literally save your life.  This course teaches you how to start getting the sleep your body NEEDS so you wake up refreshed, ready to handle the challenges of the day, and take your life to a new level!

When I was younger I could fall asleep with such ease.  Put my head down on the pillow and it was “lights out” in no time.  Then, like you, my life got complicated. Responsibilities at work increased - and so did the stress levels.  I began to have a few “off hours” of sleep each night, and like you, thought nothing of it.  Throw a few kids into the mix and the few hours quickly escalated to a few nights of lousy sleep a week.

I began to notice a decrease in my productivity and a general feeling of fatigue throughout the day. I was too tired to exercise and found myself eating at all hours of the day and night.  And pretty soon I soon weighed the most I have been my entire life, and I hated it.

My doctor asked me to do a baseline physical, since I was getting to that “age” and I was embarrassed to do one as I was in the worst shape of my life.  My suits did not fit and they had been taken out as far as they could go.

I needed a change and not one that required new clothes, no I needed to change what I was doing and get back to the way I used to sleep.

How I discovered the “3 Secrets”

I thought back to those days when I could fall asleep so easily.  It seemed so long ago and it felt like I was looking back at someone different.  But I tried to remember if there was anything I had done in the past that I could re-learn, some skills that were repeatable and consistent, that I could use to retain my mind and body to sleep soundly again.

I thought and thought and tried to remember and re-create the elements of my earlier sleeping habits.  Before I knew it I had come up with 3 simple steps I had been doing years ago, but didn’t even realize it at the time.

Could this be the answer?  I couldn’t wait to find out. I immediately started doing the 3 simple steps for 30 days to see if this would change my sleeping habits.

30 days later…Bingo!…I was back in the saddle…sleeping like a baby. Even with four kids!  I had re-discovered the secret to sound sleep.

The only thing that I changed was the 3 simple steps and they gave me the best nights of sleep I’d had in years. I found myself waking up refreshed and ready to take on the day, with much more energy and patience.  I began to exercise in the morning and soon found myself fitting into pants I had not worn in years.  I stepped on the scale one day and found myself down 20 pounds.  I was amazed!

So I have collected my thoughts, recorded my findings, and put it all together to share these secrets with you…in my new course called:

“3 Secrets to Sound Sleep”

Secret #1
 Suggestive Conditioning

Early on in my career I remember traveling a good bit to training classes, and we always had roomates.  It always struck me that the chatter at lunch was about sleep.  This person couldn’t sleep because her room was too close to the highway.  This guy could not sleep because the room was too hot.  It seemed like I was the only one who was getting a good night sleep.  And no matter who I roomed with the conversation always went something like this:

Roomate: “Steve, Did I keep you up lastnight?”

Me: “Uh no…why?”

Roomate:  “I just don’t do well in hotels” or “I am restless when I am not in my own bed” or “my  snoring keeps me awake”

Me: “Really…I didn’t hear a thing…slept like a baby”

Roomate: “God I wish I could sleep like that”

And there it was staring me right in the face the entire time:  Suggestive Conditioning.

Secret #2
The Breath Restoration Technique

It’s no secret that throughout human history, people have sought the ability to restore breath into the bodies of those without.  And it’s no secret that a good part of the population doesn’t know how to breathe properly.

If anyone knows about the power of your breath, it is me.  I have been an asthmatic all my life.  Many ask me what an asthma attack feels like.  Sprint a 100 or 200 meter dash.  At the end of the sprint pull out a straw and try to breathe through it.  That is what an asthma attack feels like.

There are many who teach about proper breathing.  The Breath Restoration Technique is an essential part of the 3 Secrets to Sound Sleep and I am the only one who teaches it.

The Breath Restoration Technique:

Forces you to breathe the natural and right way

Teaches you Complete Breathing that fills your lungs to their utmost capacity

Teaches the amount of normal breaths taken in one minute

Gives you Lungs of Steel when done correctly and consistently

Teaches how to fill your body with strength, vigor, and good health

Secret #3
The Chalkboard Principle

Do you remember the end of the day in grade school?  So much excitement, nervous energy, and wonder.  It always happened around 3:00 for me.  We couldn’t wait to clean off the chalkboard. Wiping it clean with a wet towel and making it look brand new was the hightlight of our day.  The highlight for many was we knew it was the end of the day.  But there was something calming about that clean chalkboard…just minutes before it was jumbled with all the things you learned from the day, different color chalk, different sizes in the lettering on the board and very busy.  There was something mesmerizing about watching it being wiped clean and staring at the water drying on the board.  A brand new blank slate to be filled the next day.  Who would’ve guessed that the 3rd secret would come from a job in 3rd grade.
